Dorset Delft Cockerel Teapot
In the early 1980s Hinchcliffe & Barber designed and made a series
of ceramics featuring farm and domestic animals, which they launched at
the Bath & West Show. The then new magazine Country Living was
also showing and invited Hinchcliffe & Barber to make a readers offer
for the magazine which featured 6 of the animals. The offer was a huge
success and saw the launch of Hinchcliffe & Barber’s classic collection Dorset Delft.
Today it is widely credited as one of their most successful and sought-after ceramics ranges. This timeless design draws inspiration from the British tradition of Delftware and is a contemporary take on
the ‘English country look’, depicting blue farmyard animals set against a fresh creamy glaze.
